Dear Southwest Ranches Friends and Neighbors:
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and if I don’t see you later…well then…Good Night!
I attended the Town of Southwest Ranches Town meeting on Thursday evening (April 16th 2009) and now I truly wish I hadn’t. The first 90 minutes was a slugfest with regard to which council members wanted to support a certain candidate for the Town Administrator position. The way I understand it, it will take at the very least a 4 to 1 vote amongst our 5 member Town Council to approve or confirm one of the candidates for the vacant position.
That’s not the part that bothers me though.
The part that bothers me most is it appears that every candidate that I, Wanch Waggler, took the time to support in one way or another in November won their seat and I was a very happy camper… batting a thousand is always a rush…but I think I made a mistake.
During the November election I supported a candidate who last night had no compunction about saying he ran for the council seat for only one term and he really couldn’t care less what the public thinks because he won the election, he has no intention of running again and if the public doesn’t like it then they voted for the wrong person. He said “you can yell at me all you want, I don’t care, it’s not gonna bother me.”
What the…a politician I voted for and I supported just told me that he couldn’t care less what I think because he doesn’t ever need my vote again? In a huge understatement with the word Wow…I am not amused.
Politicians who make statements like that always bring to mind scenarios that could be far worse and on a much larger scale if others in positions of power or even those who may be in positions of hopelessness thought along those lines.
I’ve been around for a long time and In 1974 the President of the United States was knowingly in his final days of public office and was experiencing depression and hopelessness and even then I thought to myself, what happens if he gets into the mindset of “what difference does it make, I’ll never run for office again…why don’t I just push that little red button that everyone is always talking about and be done with it?”
I admired that President all of his days because he remained strong in the face of controversy and adversity and never used his “short term” reality as a weapon.
I am so disappointed in Councilman Fisikelli. I expected much more of a statement of reason than “I’m not running again so I don’t care what you all think.” Councilman Fisikelli also said, “you all can impeach me”. Now Mr. Fisikelli I think that’s the smartest thing you said all night. It is my personal opinion that if you have announced to everyone that you really couldn’t care less what they think and you don’t have the decency to step down, then the residents of Southwest Ranches should definitely take you up on your challenge of impeachment.
I’m guessing many folks may have already said this, as a matter of fact I’m sure of it…I’m sorry Holly…I made a mistake. If Mr. Fisikelli takes his marbles and goes home, make another run for it…third time’s a charm.
That’s All Folks!!!

P.S. Don’t miss the next few editions of Wanch Waggler / SWRGnomeNews. Check your SPAM files to make sure it doesn’t wind up there, because from what I hear there will be a few people who will be very unhappy when the next few editions of the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth are published; and they may try anything and everything to prevent this public record from becoming a public “Wanch Waggler” publication.
I heard a rumour that the Town Clerk has submitted her resignation. I think after you read the next few editions of Wanch Waggler, “We the People” will be asking for at least one more resignation!

Wanch, I sure hope you're referring to the the Sunny Isles Boy Wonder! If not him then his boss. That b.s. about the no fines for the newcomer sue happy's three months of illegal work and a $450 fine for an error of 13 areaeca palm fronds made me sick.
I hope there is some kind of petition going around.
WELL I ROAD APPLE HAVE NOT SEEN ONE SO LETS GET ONE STARTED. Put
some fire under that boys feet.
(DO YOU HAVE A RESUME' HANDY?)
I heard the sunny isles boy wonder pulled a don maines and put a resident up under the bus with his job. That alone should get his arse canned! If Morris dosent fire him I guess Morris needs to go.
Bye Stan. If you don't fire Julio just take him with you when you leave.
Road Apple - Can you be more specific about your Don Maines comment. What happened there?
