Dear Southwest Ranches Friends and Neighbors:

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and if I don't see you later…well then…Good Night!

We the People have spoken. We the People have been heard. With jubilation, on November 13th 2008, the Town of Southwest Ranches began to rebuild its political reputation that was, in my opinion, sullied. With joy, the Town of Southwest Ranches installed its newly elected officials; entrusting them to serve the town fairly, respectfully and without reservation or bias.

Our newly elected officials have paid close attention to "We the People" during the past year and a half, watching one community in Southwest Ranches clean up its homeowners association and rebuild it with pride and dignity. Our newly elected officials paid close attention to results of indiscretion within its own ranks, saw the corrections that were made and most assuredly even learned a little bit along the way about the power of "We the People."

For me personally, it has been a roller coaster ride; never really being able to please all of the people, all of the time. I have done the best I knew how to do in disseminating the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, mixing it with humor and discipline and with writing that is sometimes grammatically lacking and spelling that always needed assistance from spell check.

For those of you who wrote to me and accused me of being too harsh, well, you are entitled to your opinion. For those of you who wrote to me and accused me of being too soft, you too are entitled to your opinion. Personally, I make no apologies; if it came out of my face space…you can bet it was researched and it was the truth. Personally, I have no regrets. The results are in (again) and I am pleased with the outcome.

To that small group of people, those residents who labeled "We the People" as dissidents, malcontents, idiots and trouble makers; who now have all that extra time on their hands, I ask…was it worth it? What were you thinking? Where you once had some political clout and some respect within the town, you flushed it all away like a snotty ball of Kleenex when you started attacking individuals for having the temerity to speak up, or started attacking individuals because of their lifestyle, or started attacking individuals because they wanted to play by the rules. Take a lesson…that crap just don't cut it anymore!

For those residents in majority who want to move forward without hatred and without prejudice…please include me in your group. I did what I needed to do. I said what needed to be said. I am not just a mean old lady like the paperboy said!
Congratulations to our fine new council. Listen to your peeps. Answer their emails. You are our last best hope. We are counting on you.

And I'll be watching!

That's all Folks!!!

This weblog is awesome. You've done a great Job Wanch! Everyone, and I mean everyone, owes you a debt of gratitude. I remember (and believe it or not I still have a copy) your first newsletter circa 1971. I just wanted to tell you what a great job I think you're doing. Thank you.

I don't think I'm that good with computers, scanners and the like. I'm astonished that I was able to get a post posted and answered!

I will do my best to get it to you somehow. The June 17, 1971 Wanch Waggler I have here in front of me says Volume II - 2, so it may not be the very first issue. I'll look further into my treasure trove of SWR ancient history!

By the way, now that I think I may have the hang of this posting thing...the link you have listed for Sunshine Ranches takes you to a real estate website. I think the Sunshine Ranches Homeowners Association website is what you may have been going for and that email address (I think) is www.sunshineranches.org

That weather stuff and all that other information is very very cool. For an Old Gnome you still have some tricks up your sleeve. Very impressive!

Hi Wanch:

Just got word that Don Maines will have to pay the Florida Elections Commission $$$ fine "post haste" or he will be subjected to a full investigation for his advertising blunder. Mr. Avello should have just left well enough alone and accepted defeat without throwing a tantrum. Ah well, what goes around comes around! Thank God this election crap is over. Thank God that Wanch Waggler helped us rid the town of those buffoons.

I think you should have been the one who said "promises made, promises kept" instead of Don Maines spouting it in his illegal political advertisement!

Great Job Wanch!

Just to let folks know- it is public record- Doug raised alittle over $5300. during his campaign and Don had a whopping $17,500. But as we the people 'followed the money', the reality behind the scenes came to light. Well done voters!

Just proves that money aint everything! Sometimes less is more.

Well at least this time it sure was!
